How to update your Personas and Authority Levels with Pursuit Agent

Last updated: September 18, 2026

When to Use This

Use this when a job title your team sells to is missing from a Persona or an Authority Level, and you want to fix it in conversation rather than in Settings.

Before You Start

Steps

  1. Review what you have today: "Show me my Personas and my Authority Levels." Pursuit Agent lists each option and the titles and departments behind it.

  2. Add titles to an existing option: "Add 'City Manager' to our C Level Authority Level, keeping the existing titles." Pursuit Agent preserves existing conditions unless you ask it to replace them.

  3. Replace criteria when that is what you want. Say "replace" explicitly, for example "Replace the titles in our Procurement Persona with CFO and Finance Director."

  4. Exclude titles that are producing noise: "Exclude 'Professor' from our Information Technology Persona."

  5. Confirm the change. Pursuit Agent shows what it will apply and waits for your approval, because these edits are company-wide.

What Success Looks Like

Contact searches and lists filtered by that Persona or Authority Level return the new titles, and the updated criteria are visible in your custom filter settings.

Common Issues

Problem: Your existing titles disappeared after an edit. Fix: Say "keeping the existing titles" or "add to" rather than "set" when you want criteria added. Pursuit Agent preserves existing conditions by default and replaces only when you ask it to.

Problem: The edit is refused. Fix: Persona and Authority Level edits are company-wide and need Admin access. Ask an Admin to make the change, or have them grant you Admin. See User Roles and Permissions.

Problem: You updated a Persona and your Radar Inbox did not change. Fix: That is expected. Personas filter contacts, not Signals. To change what Radar surfaces, update your Territory and Products, or tune your Product profile Signal criteria.
