Introduction to Research
Last updated: June 8, 2026
Overview
Research Mode is your AI-powered workspace within the Pursuit platform for developing deep insights into your accounts and contacts. It allows you to ask targeted research questions, generate structured findings, and score and prioritize your territory, accounts, or contacts — all in one place.
Think of Research Mode as a powered notebook of insights that you can point at anything you want to learn more about.
Workbooks and Worksheets
Everything in Research Mode is organized into workbooks. A workbook is a contained collection of related research or insights. Within each workbook you can have multiple worksheets that can be organized around accounts or contacts.
You can create as many workbooks as you need. Common use cases include quarterly target account analysis, territory prioritization, competitive research, and contact-level outreach preparation.
The anatomy of a worksheet
A worksheet at its most basic level brings together:
Lists of entities: a set of defined entities or contacts you want to research
Metadata you have already about them (either those standard in the platform or that you can add from your CRM)
AI-powered research prompts: the questions you need to know about your target entities that you can pose or default ones Pursuit offers for you
AI-powered insights: such as Territory / Account Scores, Nearby Customers, etc. that help you rank and prioritize your team's focus and energy
Results: the outputs generated from your prompts and scoring, ready for your team to act on
